What is a Webinar? A webinar is a presentation via the Internet. You can see and hear the presenter and ask questions from the comfort of your home. When are the FSGS Poolside Chat Webinars held? FSGS webinars are held the 3rd Thursday of the month at 8:00 p.m. (ET) Who can attend them? The live presentation is open to the public; the archived version is limited to members of FSGS. How much does it cost to attend an FSGS webinar? To attend the live presentation, there is no cost; to attend the archived version, you must be an FSGS member. Can I listen to an archived webinar? If you are an FSGS Member, log in and look for the FSGS Webinar link on the left under Members Log In. How do I get a copy of the webinar handout? You must be an FSGS member in order to download the webinar handout. After registering for the webinar, you will be sent a link to the handout. How do I register to attend an FSGS Webinar? Locate the webinar you would like to attend and click on the registration link. You must register separately for each webinar as each registration link is unique.

The "Poolside Chats: A Genealogy Webinar Series" is organized by the Technology-Outreach Committee and presented to the FSGS membership and the public on a monthly basis. We have had webinars on topics such as DNA in genealogy, cloud-based technology, Florida territorial records and everything in between - and we are just getting started.

Genealogy education today can be accomplished in a number of mediums, webinars being one of them. This educational opportunity can provide you with information about resources, new technology and its relationship with genealogy, methodology, new websites and new databases coming online, and much more.
