FSGS Society Webinar Service – Present Archived (pre-recorded) Webinars

To provide an archived webinar presentation at your society meeting, you will need to submit a request. You will be asked for your society name, name of webinar, and date requested for viewing. You will be provided, via email, a password to retrieve the archived webinar.

Instructions to request an archived webinar for Society presentation:
  • Downloand and fill out the Archived Webinar Request Form
  • The form will be processed by FSGS within 2 weeks of receipt. If you request an archived webinar that needs to be approved by a speaker (those on a case-by-case basis), you should allow for at least two months processing.
  • You will receive an acknowledgment email that we received your request. If we need to get in touch with a speaker, you will be informed.
  • Approximately two weeks before the viewing date, you will receive an email with the password to retrieve the archived webinar and the instructions for downloading the file.

Information about showing the archived webinar at your Society meeting:
  • The video files are either Windows Media Files (earlier files) or mp4 videos (later files) – both are under 100MB each
    • The mp4 file should open on a Mac or PC; however, the Windows Media File will need to be converted if you are using a Mac.
    • If you need a conversion to mp4 files, please let us know at least 2 weeks before your presentation is scheduled.
  • Ensure that you have projecting equipment and a screen/monitor
  • Ensure that you have a way to project the audio; computer speakers will not be sufficient. For optimal results, you should connect the computer directly into the sound system in the meeting room. A Bluetooth enabled boom box or portable speakers will also work.
  • Two weeks before your presentation is scheduled you will receive the link and password. The video is stored on Vimeo.com. To access the video, you will need a link to the requested video along with a special password.  Please note that both the link and password are different than those used to access webinars from the FLSGS website.
  • At least one week before the presentation, run a test to ensure you have everything working and do not require onsite technical assistance.

Restrictions for usage:
  • The only webinars allowed for presenting, at this time, are noted in the two lists below.
  • This is a one-time showing at a Society meeting. The link and password is not to be made available to the society members.
  • Handouts are not available at this time for printing for Society viewed webinars. Please do not infringe upon the speaker’s copyright by printing and distributing your personal copy.
